Sidney Homecoming

Sharing pictures of Sidney High School's Homecoming. We worked with a great group of students. We would like to especially thank Cody Manger for all his help in coordinating student help, the use of the small gym, and all the other things he did to help make the Homecoming Ceremony and Dance special. Along with Cody there were several students who helped as well. They are Haruka Matimura, Kenleigh Immal, Myka Chevez, Tiarra Stewart, Katie Marshall, Morgan Bailey, Karey Lindsey, and Anne Imke. A big thanks to all of you for all of your help. We apologize if we have misspelled anyones name or left anyone out. We look forward to working with all of you again. Our Experience With Prom Decorating
Written by tina alt Friday, 12 March 2010 11:01
Spring formals line the shops and prom is in the air. You can hear the lovebirds cooing but for those of you involved in planning a prom there is no time to stop and breath in the fresh air that is fast approaching. The prom committee may or may not have chosen the theme for the prom yet, but it is time to move into high gear. Budgets are set, dates are being sought, and dresses are being bought. If you are like most advisors planning a prom your schedule just got even more hectic.
We at Balloon Creations & Gifts LLC would like to take some of the stress off of you. It's been our experience that the schools want the students to have hand on experience when it comes to decorating for the prom. We offer a discount for student labor. We coordinate our decorations with decorations the school either already has, is making, or planning to purchase.
At a prom we did in 2009 we watched various groups of students struggle to get a cardboard prom kit put together. Students came and students went. In the end they called the advisor over, tossed the instructions, and brought out the duct tape. The students didn't look happy that they had gotten their task accomplished. They did look glad that it was over with but seemed to have no real sense of accomplishment. They just hoped it would stay together and not fall over.
Our professional award winning staff worked with the students on at least 4 projects over the course of a few days. We showed the students how to work our equipment and what needed to be done. Every student had the opportunity to work on each project.
At first the students seem to think it was going to be easy. Then reality hit when fingers started to ache and they saw the designs for the finished product. They didn't believe they could make balloons look like that. The staff kept reassuring them, moving them around to find the best person for each job, and to give fingers a rest. When things started coming together you could see the pride and sense of accomplishment on their faces.
Our staff was a little tired at the end, but the teens were pumped up and couldn't wait for the prom to see what the rest of the class thought about the work they had done. And the teacher advisor told us it was the easiest time she had ever had getting the decorations set up. She wished she had found us years ago. Too bad she retired. Please call us at 937-295-3456 to see if the date of your prom is still available on our calendar. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us. My mom and I were wowed by the Christmas corsages we received from my husband. Everyone at Christmas mass asked how you did it. What is wonderful is that they are still fresh and we will have them next year. Thanks Jenny F. Piqua, Ohio
